Think about it. The average blog generates about 8 pounds of carbon dioxide, while each tree generates about 10 pounds of oxygen. Not to mention that every human alive creates over 700 pounds of carbon dioxide a year.
I know what many of you are probably going to say. How you live in an apartment or somewhere that you cannot plant a tree or afford one. I must argue. Once a year in April, the Arbor Day Foundation gives away seedlings. Did you catch that? Gives away. As in free. Who can beat that? My parent's home has over five trees growing that have been graciously accepted from the Arbor Day Foundation.
If you do not have a place to plant trees of your own, donate a few dollars. Every dollar donated to Arbor Day pays for one tree. A yearly membership is twenty dollars. That's twenty trees a year. And if you are a member for at least ten years, that's 200 trees planted just because of you. Not to mention all of the volunteer programs that you can participate in to help plant trees. If you are a customer at Bank of America, there are multiple debit cards to chose from that help the environment. From Arbor Day to the National Audubon Society, a certain percentage of every dollar you spend goes towards these charitable organizations.
So, I challenge you. Will you help the environment by planting a tree, or making sure one was planted for you? I hope you will. I leave you with this quote from the Iroquois, “In our every deliberation, we must consider the impact of our decisions on the next seven generations.”

Hmmm
Interesting.
Sorry I don't buy into this whole global warming, climate change ...whatever today's buzz word is for the greenies.
I do though care about our planet and was planting trees and recycling many years ago.
Also using natural products as far back as the 60's.
But for me when governments get involved and the Al Gore's of this world come out to "help" us....look out because it means they have a brand new way to control and tax us.
That's all this is about.
Caring for the planet is common sense and I don't need a government idiot to make us new rules.
If you read more of my posts, you will see that I started this lifestyle to save money, and not the planet. I have supported the Arbor Day Foundation for years because of my parents. The planet is overpopulated, and we are nothing but fleas on a dog, waiting to be shaken off. Because of that, we have too many trees being destroyed without enough reasons. I didn't need anyone to tell me that.
